Curse you, Bill Gates!

So. My computer hates me. It's missing a file it needs to boot, and after repairing it with the Windows XP CD, and copying over the file it needed, it now endlessly cycles through the first two boot-up screens. Grrr! Thank goodness for friends who are willing to come over and try and fix it. ^_^; Hopefully, we'll get it up again tonight.

But my girl has a job! Yay!

I have no idea why the hard drive failed. ^_^;;; I do know that the friend who fixed it all up for me also replaced one of my fans (it was whining) and put a heat sink on the motherboard for me (because the fan on it was broken.) So maybe it was temperature-related.

And I am duly virus and spyware poretectioned with regular updates, and have it set up to defrag and scandisk regularily, and have no flickery lights. I think I'm going to move the tower on top on the desk, if all the cords reach comfortably.
