Five days behind on lj. Gaaaah.

So. In the past week or so.

Went to see naked_bandit, yay! Need to trek back out to her far-flung end of the city, bearing Christmas cookies and a replacement Christmas present for her little guy. (The Grinch DVD got traded in for a Charlie Brown Christmas, since he had it already.)

Games night at jestyna's! Scrabble, communal pictionary, Balderdash (best definition: ogee, a party where everyone gets naked and wonders what to do next), fun!

Annual potluck with friends! In which we all descend on Harry's place with food, and I could not remember how many years we've been doing it. At least six.

Errands, shopping, general business, m'girl makes home-made peppermint patties and chocolate mocha truffles. Mmmmm.

I send out cards, on December twenty-third. This is a new record for me of late, seeing as they're in the mail before Christmas. (Well, except for stuff for joan_not_jaon, alessar, placidia, and guyindkny, seeing as I need to still add stuff to be sent.

We did not get a tree this year. We have a foot-high little, tiny fake tree, hung about with anime keychains.

Christmas Eve with my folks (it's a German thing, presents and dinner Christmas Eve instead, and stockings Christmas morning), Christmas Day with troutkitty's, and after all that, dear god, there is the desire to eat nothing but fruit and vegetables for the next month.

Eee! I now have a Tara figure to keep my two Willows company. And Puzzle Fighter, a flat-screen monitor (mockingspike, do you still need a better monitor? Want my old one? It's only 14", but has no discernible flickers or such), a li'l MP3 player, fuzzy jammies, and other sundry goodies. And among other things, somebody got my girl ROTK:EE a couple days late. (whistles innocently)

It's dead, dead, dead at work this week. All afternoon on the reference desk, and the phone rang twice. And there was no email. Given that the week before, there was one day where I had seventy-three separate requests, yeah. Quiet.

Still have to blurb what I've been reading lately (gasp! mostly "grown-up" books!), but for now, should pack up and go home. Yay!

You'd think so... but there's still work stuff to be done, alas. Just not quite so hectically as usual.

Christmas

Yes, the boy does not as of yet have charlie brown's christmas. But anything with dogs and music he will go crazy over.

He found my doll house in the basement and there are no dolls in it, so he's getting a small doll for his birthday. And a big talking Zoboomafoo. You were there when I bought that.

Fun stuff. Can't wait to see you soon.

Hee... it's one of my favourite Christmas movies, purely out of nostalgia. So your son must have a copy. *g* Ooh, the Zoboomafoo was cool! And I hope the roads co-operate so I can come see you some time this weekend.

Yay! Although it looks like a lot of snow this weekend. But we will figure out something. New year's was kinda lame for me, but oh well I can post a journal entry and whine there....
