Oh long weekend, why you are not longer?
Aug. 3rd, 2010 10:46 pmGah. The Tuesday after a long weekend is usually crazy-nuts in public libraries. My library, if we close on a holiday Monday, we're also closed on Sunday. That's right, we've been closed TWO WHOLE DAYS. Even if one of them was just an afternoon. So, I think everyone was tired and cranky and frazzled at the library today, even those of us not on a public service desk. Blah.
We have set a Very Bad Predecent. We have allowed the Big Kitty outside to prowl on the grass under VERY careful supervision. He's fine, the grass is fine, all is good. Except now there is an EXPECTATION. And yowling. A lot of yowling. Any time you go near the back door and sometimes when you don't. Oops.
Gluten free foods of which I approve: Blue Diamond Nut Thin crackers (smokehouse and ranch flavour are both good but cheese is a bit fake-cheese-y), Nairn's Oat Biscuits (especially the ginger ones which are nicely gingery) and Kinnickinnick Foods has both oreo and graham cracker like things which aren't bad.
Some more open links:
Porn for Women from XKCD. Heh.
(I was going to say,
zulu, this one's for you, but I sent it to you already!) Emily Nagoski: Sex Nerd, a blog from a sex educator on a college campus who also has a biological science (I think?) background.
Given the current limited numbers of food
troutkitty is able to keep down right now (stupid gallbladder), this post (and comments) from The Fat Nutritionist, on so-called worthless foods is particularly apropos.
Foodishly, back to oatmeal, I want to make this Oatmeal Breakfast Clafoutis. (Where did I get the link? Somewhere off Apartment Therapy mebbe?)
Bed now...
