It's raining.
Jun. 7th, 2005 12:52 pmIt's raining.
It's raining, and I'm taking the bus home.
It's raining, I'm taking the bus home, and there are (at least) three leaks in the library ceiling.
It's raining, I'm taking the bus home, there are leaks in the library ceiling, and the circulation system has decided that any book signed out is due on Friday instead of in two weeks.
It's raining, I'm taking the bus home, there are leaks in the library ceiling, the due dates are screwed, and I made a kindergarten kid cry this morning
What can you do but laugh?
Well, actually, what I can do is make sure I've got my nylon rain jacket and umbrella, set ice cream buckets under the leaks, and call the help desk. Repeatedly. (Because, while I can manually change the date due, it's a pain in the butt to have to do it for every single kid in the school.)
Also, the crying kid was mollified with kleenex, an assurance that I wasn't mad at him for forgetting his book, and a note to take home reminding him to bring it tomorrow. And people wonder why I'd rather be in a junior high... I mean, the little ones are cute, but.
