Varied and sundry RL bits and pieces
Jul. 21st, 2004 12:38 amThe bad news: the temp job I had ended early, mid-last-week instead of end of July. They miscalculated and ran out of things for me to do. Thhhhbt.
The good news: have another temp contract.
The bad news: it doesn't start until next week. It's data entry. And it's only two weeks long.
The good news: It's only two weeks of data entry. ^_^;
The other good news: had an interview for a image keyworder job with a software-ish company. However, it's telecommuting so they have applicants from all over. Here's hoping I get a second interview. Ideally, I would get it and do both the keywording and subbing for CBE in the fall.
My mom took pity on my sporadically-employed self, and bought me some new summer clothes (a few shirts and a pair of shorts), and groceries. However,
troutkitty also stopped on the way home and got groceries. We are so not going out to eat at ALL for the next two weeks.
Animethon was this past weekend. Con report forthcoming later. About panels, cosplay, and the gradual evolution of the dealer's room, and how I feel old and jaded.
Got to hang out with my Amy again! Yay! Trying to tempt her down for Conversion with offers of a floor to sleep on (possibly softened with a borrowed air mattress), and promises of IFWA does OMWF.
And she got me addicted to MariMite (aka Maria-sama ga Miteru). Anime! Shoujo! Girls' school story! Sosososo gay! It's like the bastard love-child of Brother Dear Brother, Utena, and Azumanga Daioh. Except y'know, all benign and angst-lite. And bits that are just... so... damn... cute! Apparently I can be made to squee and shriek "Kawaiiiii!" at teh cute. It just has to be girls in love. ^_^;
(Amy, you are so right about the white rose family or whatever you'd call them! Eee! Emphatically the most interesting of the lot.)
And I still have two rounds of borrowed YA books to blurb here. Heh.
Oh, yeah. The other bad news: my nasturium, morning glories, and the plant that might possibly be a columbine all have recurring aphids. Grr. Arming self with soapy water. Again. Grrr.
