One Week

This is my life this week, work not withstanding.

Mon: bought Firefly on DVD! (Damn you, Ariel! Evil Joss-Whedon-series-pimping Edmontonian temptress!)

Tues: Was deserted while Barb went to writer's group. (Insert melodramatic gesture here.) Went shopping for rainbow streamers and balloons.

Wed: queenzulu had a coming out party, hence the rainbow streamers and balloons. She said, "I'm gay." We all said, "We know. That's why we got you this card and stuff." I hope it wasn't too anticlimatic. Perhaps all the groping that followed made up for it. Had to leave early (ie, at midnight instead of 3:30am) because of work. Vaguely recall Barb getting in at four...

Thurs: Barb did a pre-meeting talk at IFWA on writing sex. Made a foray to the adult video store on 17th with Anna and chaleur23 to pick up "research material." Namely, text-based porn magazine to contrast with erotica collection. Heh. Took chaleur23 to get her entry for the Conversion short story contest printed out, and kidnapped her for heinous sexual experiments so she could not return to the meeting! Bwaha!... well, actually we just drank tea and tried to make her a Jeeves & Wooster icon. On the down side, the post-IFWA gathering at the pub across the street was informed that they were out of wings. Grrr.

Fri: Dinner with Barb's parents. Met the usual IFWA subcontingent at the coffee shop when they got out of LOTR:ROTK. This turned out to be around midnight. Managed to find the energy to stay out until two none-the-less.

Sat: Communal firefly-watching potluck at our place! Much food. And Firefly. And snuggling on the futon in various permutations. (Shoulda been here, queenzulu!) Did not make it through the series in one night, funny that. chaleur23 is convinced that Simon and Jayne should be together. "Look at him stroke that gun! That large, phallic gun, in front of Simon like that! He wants him!"

Today: time change. V. tired. Saw an incredibly awesome puppet show thing thanks to my friend Maggie, who couldn't make it down and sent us her tickets. Watched last Monday's ep of This is Wonderland. Slashy!

sounds like a fabulous (if busy) week; lots of fun and fannish behavior, and chaleur23 is absolutely right that Simon & Jayne belong together. they're MFEO !!

Wednesday's my only other day off, and my parents have conscripted me into babysitting my siblings--they're off to Lake Louise for a romantic ski getaway. I can't blame them; it's their anniversary.

I don't suppose you feel like playing some squash, then? It's lots of fun, and very good exercise :). Don't worry, you can't possibly suck more than I did when I started, and I can teach ya! And it's free for you, if you're a student :). Wanna come, daemonluna? I got a bunch of passes, too :). It doesn't have to be this week, but you've probably only got a few more weeks to take me up this offer, if I'm going to California for the summer. One thing -- you need non-marking shoes.
