Small good things
Jun. 23rd, 2012 09:53 pmBah, work has been eating my brain lately. Impending stress of major changes have become changes that have happened, and upset and confusion to be dealt with. And it all has made me stressed and grouchy and way more negative than I like to be. And after spending so much mental and emotional energy on work lately, I need to make a conscious effort to focus on who I am outside of work. (I am now officially Senior Management. Yikes.)
So, I'm going to try to stop and take some time for the little stuff, and try to post at least One Good Thing every couple of days.
I've used a few of my vacation days at work for some random long weekends. Yesterday was one of them.
( on minor creativity in the kitchen and rescuing produce before it becomes compost )
Things that are good: easy home-made crackers, salvaged vegetables, and (I almost forgot) the first two cherry tomatoes from the garden.
Highlights from this afternoon: walking to OUT in the Park and just meandering around (Pride this week!), finally stopping to browse in the art gallery gift shop, the newly-discovered amazingness that are the frapuccinos at our favourite local coffee shop (they roast their own beans and are just generally awesome), and checking out all the neighbourhood gardens as we walked home.
So that's that.
