Mixed emotions and dirt and stuff
Jun. 26th, 2012 10:46 pmSunday, I accidentally spent four hours mucking around in the garden.
Our house has a strip of grass next to the sidewalk, and then an ugly concrete retaining wall, and then some more scrubby grass. (I refuse to water the lawn, most of the summer.) I've been wanting to do something with it for a while, and Sunday I took a narrow strip at the top of the wall on either side of the stairs, dug it up, and filled it up with bits of rock-garden friendly plants transplanted from the rest of the garden.
(While digging, I found a large ant colony, and a whole lot of ant larvae. I hope the internet is right, and that the ants will relocate since I disturbed their nest.)
I've read all three Hunger Games books in the past... well, three days. (I'm super-late to the party, I know.) Got to the end of Mockingjay about an hour ago, and oh, ouch. I'm not sure I'm going to be able to watch the third movie.
