Random bits of my week
Jul. 28th, 2006 09:56 pmTuesday night, I was vaguely curious why my coworker was laughing hysterically in the workroom. She came back out, and asked me if I'd ever heard of Snakes on a Plane. Apparently, there's also a contest running. You can win a trip to Arizona to see REAL SNAKES. I, of course, told her all about Boa vs Python. (Many of you are probably far too familiar with it already.) Now she really want to see it.
Today, we wandered through the video store, and there in the bargain bin, was yet another copy of Boa vs Python, so I picked it up for her.
Thing that made me smile this week:
* The Hutterite lady who brought in a plate of sticky buns for the reference staff. (There is no inconspicous way to make your way across the library to the staff room on the absolute opposite other side with a sticky bun in hand.)
* The group of teenage girls sitting on the sidewalk outside the library just after closing, waiting for their ride, having an earnest discussion about Buffy and Spike and the hotness therein.
* The kid who asked me if he could pet the fish in the koi pond in the kids' department. ("Probably not a good idea," I told him.)
* The high circ stats on most of the GLBT books in the YA collection.
* I have gotten
carlanime addicted to Oniisama E. Bwah.
And now, we are going to go and watch the first episode of Deadwood.
