Just a minor little detail...

I'd be well on my way to having a working library by the beginning if Ocotober if it weren't for one thing. Just a small detail. Insignificant, practically. (Ha.)

Barcodes.

I don't have them yet.

Which also means that I can't send them to the one distributor from whom I'm getting about half the library (and most of the picture books), all catalogued, processed, and ready to go. Yeah, library books need barcodes.

Once I get the barcodes, it'll take a few days to get the books I have ready to go. (I hope.) And a few weeks to get the pre-processed stuff sent to me. I ordered the barcodes at the end of August. It was supposed to take a week, but they got this faulty label-stock...

Also, my book truck and bookends are on back-order. And I'm not going to have enough book-binding tape for all the paperbacks.

The up side is that I might find some time to work on important but non-crucial stuff like booklists and displays. Brilliant library bulletin board ideas, anyone? (I have a tree. It says "fall into a good book." Yes, I know that's kind of lame, shut uuuup.)

Also, I have a veritable army of parent volunteers wandering through. Yay for delegating all the stamping and taping!

But it's the weekend now. And we're going to go see the penguin movie tomorrow. Penguins!

What I forgot to mention--in the past couple of months I've recieved four random bits of feedback on old stories! (... yeah, I know, it doesn't sound like a lot. I write in obscure fandoms, shut uuuuup.) For this Due South ghost story, incredibly obscure fic, and two on only slightly less obscure Canadian fic.

Composing letters in my head

Dear SGA fandom,

Elizabeth Weir is not Liz.

Seriously. No-one on the show calls her Liz. And more importantly, she never, ever refers to herself as such. I'm an Elisabeth-not-Liz, too. Having people arbitrarily change your name is infuriating, and occasionally, if persisted with after you correct them, shows a huge lack of respect. You can use this. Work with it.

But when she thinks of herself as Liz? Cut that shit out.
