Being all responsible-like
Mar. 3rd, 2007 09:27 pmI'm practically being a proper responsible grown-up these days. I've been to the gym three times this week, and found both a dentist and a doctor in town. And it turns out none-too-soon because WHOA, my jaw hates me lately.
Essentially, the joints in my jaw don't move smoothly, or fit together properly. The only problem I've had with it before is that my jaw will lock when I'm at the dentist. Mildly alarming at the time, but not too serious. Until about three weeks ago. Gahh. Ow.
Flash forward to Tuesday night when it starts to hurt. A LOT. I am, of course, at work, and have a meeting in an hour. I take two advil. Five minutes later, follow it with one more, and give it fifteen minutes to start working, or I may have to go home. Advil works, I am good. I get home from work, pills wear off. Three Advils and one Tylenol-3 later, I find myself lying on the couch with a bag of frozen apricots on my face, waiting for the pills to kick in. (Fortunately, it hasn't been quite that bad since.)
I am currently taking Advil every four or five hours, applying heat and cold as needed, and going back to the dentist on Monday. Gahh, I say. So that is why I am less post-y and comment-y than usual lately.
In other news, we are going to Calgary tomorrow for purposes of a) being social over sushi and ramen, and b) going to T&T Supermarket and stocking up on edamame, sticky rice and shrimp dumplings.
Also, I am making hot cross buns. (Well not right this second. Except kind of, in that I'm waiting for the dough to rise.) Note to self: next time, start this whole process before 8pm so you're not up until midnight, bun-making.
