Weekendish things
Jan. 8th, 2007 12:59 amFirst off, thank you to whoever gifted me with the broken-headed gingerbread man on my LJ account! It made me grin most definitely.
troutkitty has posted the details of or relatively uneventful but still very sociable holiday season here.
Alas, I have not been big with the posting lately. This may improve now that I've finally made it through Zelda: Twilight Princess. And since I've spent the past two days finally dealing with the computer room, which is now semi-habitable again.
Since we moved in July, half the stuff from my desk space (that was crammed into quite a small corner in our old apartment and I have no idea how it fit) was still in boxes, stashed in the closet. The room itself had accumulated some truly large heaps of papers, etc, that had been piled up in various tidying-up-the-living-room-at-the-last-minute efforts.
Now, everything is unpacked, the papers are all sorted and rearranged and put away,
troutkitty's stash of blank notebooks has been unearthed (though she's been on a writing on yellow legal pads kick lately, which are SO much easier to find than unlined notebooks!), various stacks of important papers are filed away, and the only boxes in the closet are stuff that is stored there on purpose. The little window air conditioner that's been on the floor since we took it out of the window in September is also away in the closet. There are pictures on the walls, and a small assortment of the sum total of plushy totoros in the house are on top of the bookcases. (I have rather a lot of them.)
(Um,
mockingspike, this means next time you come to visit, there will be ideally room on the office floor for the inflatable bed without taking up ALL the available floor space.)
So when
troutkitty got home tonight, we ordered pizza, and spent the evening watching the BBC Hogfather miniseries. (Very well done overall, and Susan was PERFECT.) Other awesome things I've seen and read lately include the last two episodes of Torchwood (head go EXPLODEY from slashy TEXTY goodness OMG!) and The Pinhoe Egg, Diana Wynne Jones's latest book (it is a sequel to Charmed Life, and I cannot articulate how much that thrills me! *FLAIL*)
But I had Coke with my pizza. In retrospect, that was not the brightest idea as it's now one am, and I am WIDE AWAKE.
