Really, there were just two degrees of good today. Good and not-good. Good was Rent. The girl and I met up with [livejournal.com profile] queenzulu, and it was of the good. (And I remember Amy-in-Edmonton telling me she had a thing for one of the characters but couldn't remember which one--having seen it, I would stake my life on it being Maureen. *g*)

Then, there was Dark Light, on TV tonight. Oh, David Hewlett. Go back to the arty Canadian drama! With the bouncy-like-tofu Nothing and the colour filters of Century Hotel, and even the incest-o-rama freakiness that was Pin. This did not quite reach Boa vs Python levels of bad, but it was up there. Plus! It had Q and Jim Ellison in it as well as Rodney! Yes, this is the way our fannish hive-minds work.

Was vaguely disappointed with this week's SGA. I think it's because I felt like plot had been sacrificed in favour of running around and shooting. It's the kind of thing where I need to let it set for a few days before attempting any sort of detailed analysis, however. That's just the way my brain works. So we'll see what I think later. when it started, we all looked at each other and said "Didn't we read this in fanfic already?" Where it was Rodney and John playing hosts for two Atlanteans who were lovers, and slash ensued. And I'm not going to be impressed at all if John and Elizabeth get all couple-y. I think that was SGA's idea of being subtle. ("He cares for you... more than you know.") Anyhow.

Yeah...but did you notice that Sheppard's main objection to turning his body over to an alien consciousness was that he might have to, you know, with a girl? *giggle* And Rodney's horror when he realized the full implications of the experiment? SGA is still my Big Gay Space Show.

Oh god, yes! This is the show that among many, many other Very Gay moments, brought us "Duet." Queerest of the queer!
