The new Tamora Pierce book, Will of the Empress, came in for me at the library last week. I was going to make myself wait until I'd gotten some more reading for next week done (pile of gr 3-6 fiction, and some policy and procedure stuff), but gave in earlier tonight.

Or rather, text. OMG, OMG, OMG! I've been seeing Lark/Rosethorn slash since the first book, and now it's canon that their a couple! And Daja! Has met herself a nice girl! (Well, whether she's really nice or not reamins to be seen, but! Girls smooching!)

Tamora Pierce is AWESOME. (I've got a friend who's unofficially not allowed to review her books for VOYA any more because she can't maintain the proper level of objectivity. *g*) I read the Alanna books as a teenager when they first came out in the eighties, and loved them to pieces. I've got both Protector of the Small and The Magic Circle (I think that's the name--Sandry's Book, etc.) series in my library.

Plus, I'm always thrilled to find really good books with GLBT characters that aren't just the same coming out problem novel over and over.
