Anecdotalness

I've been booktalking books about war this week, what with Remembrance Day being this Friday and all. And I'm in the middle of showing a bunch of grade threes a book about Juno Beach, and a(n age apppropriate) account of the horrors of war.
And the one kid sticks up his hand. I ask him if he's got a question. (Because every other library period, we have the talk about the difference between a question and a story.)
"I know the name of a German gun!" he informs me proudly.
"That's... very interesting."
"Do you think you have any books about guns?"
Oy. (The answer was no, the boys in the class before you got both my Eyewitness books with guns in them.) Despite the medicore review from SLJ, I think I need me a copy of this books.
On the up side, one fo the kindergarten kids informed me I was very pretty yesterday, and gave me a big hug. So it's all good.
