Stupid soggy rain
Jun. 12th, 2005 10:41 pmIt's raining. Again. It's been doing far too much of that lately.
Of course, I expected as much since today was the pride parade, which is always, always cold and rainy. In fact, as it started a bit late (as usual--we had much fun watchin the police clear the traffic from 17th Ave.) we were working with the theory that the parade would start when the rain did. It waited until after, though, so all was good. And
queenzulu was very bouncy, and we were all easily amused.
Witness, this exchange:
Little old lady being detoured onto a side street: (rolls down window) What's going on?
troutkitty: Pride parade!
LOLBDoaSS: (nodding in a "I know exactly what you're talking about, really, I do" kind of way) Oh, okay!
Then either
troutkitty or
queenzulu decided that it was part of a series of "seven deadly sins" parades, and that
queenzulu a girl is still ongoing. And we really, really suck at it. We decided that we should go to the one (only) lesbian bar where post-parade festivities were going on, and find her a girl there.
They were carding everyone.
troutkitty didn't have her ID. We had to leave. (Of course, we could have gone home to get it, but it was pouring rain, and we all were absolutely starving. So we went for ramen, and to see Mr and Mrs Smith.)
And this morning, we finished watching Tipping the Velvet. Mmm. With the gorgeous costumes, and the girls smooching, and the incredibly vivid Victorian London. I want more fiction like that.
But mostly right now, I want some warm, sunny weather.
