... aka I have way too many tabs open. Heh.
Let's see. We've got Margaret Atwood on book cover blurbs, by way of Neil Gamain's blog.
Here's a look at this summer's beach-blanket reading. Not surprisingly, HP:HPB is at the top of the list, followed by a bunch of thrilles I have no interest in, and some random other stuff I might pick up. (Read: put on hold at the library.)
Along vaguely related lines, this article from the Scotsman, Harry Potter and the army of adult readers is about adults reading kids'/teen books. (Though I have to point out that I believe The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Nighttime was published as an adult book, despite having a teen protagonist. It's told from the perspective of a fifteen-year-old autistic boy, a fascinating book, but I digress..
From CBC, Stuck on Youth: The new world of teen fiction is about the expectations that writing teen books iw just what you do until you manage to write a "real" (read: adult) book.
From Nancy Pearl, the Seattle-area librarian who was the basis for the librarian action figure, here's some suggestions of what to read if you're eagerly waiting for the new Harry Potter.
Also, Library career romances from the forties, fifties and sixties.
And check out Her Excellency the Right Honourable Adrienne's Clarkson Speech on the Occasion of a Luncheon Hosted by the Regina Public Library.

simplelyric, go sign the For an International Day Against Homophobia (IDAHO) petition.
I haven't had a chance to look at this yet, but here's a link to some online papers on Folk Beliefs in Modern Japan.

channel_force, this R is for Rex Murphy Magnifico T-Shirt amused me. A lot. Also, who doesn't need a Quirks and Quarks labcoat? (Um, don't answer that...)
On the fannish side,
ds_mangastyle is pretty cool.
As bizarre as it sounds, it's perfectly possible in SGA that two of the main characters could suddenly turn into gay penguins.
And that's the sum of my open tabs. I need to blurb the rest of the books from last week, but now I'm going to make banana bread. Mmmmm...
