I still need to mail my Christmas cards. They're not nearly as late as they COULD be, considering that several years, I've got them all written, half of them addressed, then never made it to the post office. And then there's this box for [livejournal.com profile] joan_not_jaon with two years' worth of Christmas and birthday presents...

*ahem*

Anyhow. I have this bag full of miscellaneous fannish minutiae. Buttons, bookmarks, cards, etc. Some of it's from cons, a whole handful was from the woman [livejournal.com profile] troutkitty got her Noreascon membership from. Do I have any fans of Farscape or Stargate on my flist? Anyone want some stuff for The Secret Adventures of Jules Verne, which I have never heard of, or a Save Crusade button? Some bookmarks from theonering.net? A Vote for Palpatine is a Vote for Order button from Sith Academy?

Having spent the past little bit reading this DS AU with Fraser and RayK as academics, and being quite amused at the whole thing, I'm now being tempted into watching more Sports Night. Slashy!

Just saying hi for no reason. I am shaking your christmas present at you. (Rattle rattle) Well it's a joint gift actually. But only because I know you won't need more than one.

Hee! I, too, have spent the night reading about Fraser and Ray as academics. Go English department!

LOL, I'm sooooooo late with Christmas cards, too. Don't feel bad, because yours will probably arrive before January. I'm not even signing the one to my father, unless I can find some gift to include in my sister's gift basket, like legs for his couch or something.

And I've gotten two cards so far. Both said, "I don't know if you're still at this address, but..."

So you're doing better than me :D

But merry Christmas to you, anyway :)

(falls off chair laughing) Y'know, most people would just put in chocolate or nuts or something. I would suggest bricks for the couch, but they'd be a bitch to mail. ;P

And I don't think I'm going to mail cards to anyone local, since I can give you all cookies when I see you. *g* (Except, erm, not until I finish baking...)

Gifts and Cards and Fic

Well I just bought my cards yesterday. But most of them are for people at work and so will actually be delivered by hand. Be sure to let me know when the box is finally on its way. So far I've managed to avoid actually buying the book with that novella in it. More Sports Night, hmm? Maybe we can coax you over to West Wing after that. Same guy responsible for both of them... at least the earlier seasons of WW. Now... well Paul is still watching. I'm mostly not due to ridiculously early getting up time.

I had a tought about your Christmas gift, but must hunt around online and see if I can order it online from a Canadian company and thus avoid the whole send across the border issue.

Your box is all packed and ready! There's no room for tea, I'm afraid, which I'll have to send a bit later. Do you still need zip disks? ^_^; Because they're in there. It's been years since I've had a drive for them.

hee :)

it usually takes me ages to send my cards (if I send any at all). Two years ago I sent them on the 20th, I think :)

Thank you so much for the rec. With all the anime!love, I don't read stories in other fandoms unless someone points them out to me! :) thank you! :)

(making Christmas card list) Hmm, you need to send us your address, speaking of which! And I'm always late sending mine, too.

I need to make some more recs, even though I haven't been reading that much fanfic lately. And it's been ages since I read any anime fanfic at all. Mostly because my favourites are all incredibly obscure. ^_^;

oh, okay - I had forgotten I needed to do that *grin* I'll meail it to you! :)

I downloaded lots of DS fics yesterday thanks to your rec. I had missed it - and them! :)

And because they're obscure you can't find fics? I can't find fics because I follow sort of obscure pairings in big fandoms :)

I hear you on the fate of Christmas cards past.... you'd think the mailing part would be the easy part... after tracking down everyone's address... but I do the same thing!
