Bits and pieces
Jul. 23rd, 2004 01:00 am- There is a small cat asleep beside me, despite my committing the terrible affront of brushing her earlier.
- Latest books: Miss Smithers by Susan Just, sequel to Alice, I Think. Every bit as tonuge-in-cheek cynical as the first book. Fun. Chu-Ju's House by Gloria Whelan. Historical, very young YA, set in communist China. Good, but not as good as Homeless Bird.
- My morning glories have started blooming! The one plant, at least. Great, big purple flowers. It's too bad they don't last longer. Nasturtiums should be blooming in the next day or so, and the asters have buds. I seem to have gotten rid of most of the aphids, but the Thai basil and cilantro are suffering from something indefinite.
- Hoping for a slash panel at Conversion, but they only want to do one fanfic panel, and are probably going to aim for something more general. (Yes, let's have a panel just on fanfic. All of it. Any of it. Makes for incredibly vague conversation and an incredibly dull panel, for the most part. Of course, that could just be residual frustration from Animethon's fanfic panel.)
- Speaking of which, still need to cobble together con report.
- Also, blueberries and cottage cheese mixed together? Yummy!
