daemonlunaWe went up to Edmonton over Fri-Sat. We got rear-ended in a four-car collision. Woo-hoo. Thinkin' we should have stayed home. We're all okay, just really stiff, but the car stayed in Edmonton because it wasn't highway drivable.
Some guy in a commercial truck didn't stop in time and skidded into the SUV behind us, which hit us, and we tapped the bumper of the van ahead. (Said van belonged to the friend we were following back to her place, and is not damaged. Yay for that, at least.) It was all very dramatic and then involved about three hours of standing around and waiting for ambulance-fire-police-tow trucks-etc. So the car's in Edmonton and we're home with a rental and that's okay, because insurance is paying for it all.
Up until that point, it was a good weekend. Saw my friend Amy, which I haven't in a year. Who, incidentally, was in the back seat when this all happened. And therefore was stuck standing around with the rest of us (including the lady behind us who had her two little kids in the back, and thank god for car seats and seat belts) until the police came and took statements etc, etc.
Then Amy got a ride home with the nice officers who were heading her way and offered rather than she have to take the bus. So now she's going to tell everyone that she met me for coffee and ended up going home in the back of a police car. *g* She says that she bends where she's supposed to and not in any new places, and didn't stiffen up today, so at least she's okay. I'd feel very bad if I broke her, however inadvertently.
There were other things I meant to say but they've been lost in general achiness and this whole being too stiff to turn my head much in either direction. It could have been a whole lot worse. And now I'm going to go take some more advil (yay for blue liquid gel caps and ibuprofen) and go lie down and continue re-reading Harry Potter. Up to Prisoner of Azkaban. Did anyone else notice the tribbles in the pet store where Hermione got Crookshanks? Heh.
