Goin' to WorldCon! !!! !!!!!

daemonlunaIt's starting to sink in. We're going to WorldCon! Heeeeeee. I've never actually been to Toronto before. And... and... WorldCon! Many cool authors and panels and... stuff!

troutkitty says that I put her cows in the dryer. I suppose I really should explain. Barb's got a collection of stuffed cows. A lot of cows. Like, forty. And they were living in her parents' garage until quite recently. Having spent the past five years in a box, they were kinda musty. So I tossed them in the dryer on low heat with a fabric softener sheet. (All except Brutus and Horatio, who are too big to fit.) Ooh, spring-fresh static-free cows.
I, however, have a collection of stuffed Totoros, including one that stands a good two feet high. (That's another long story involving Animethon in years past.) Certain individuals *cough*HelenandArron*cough* among my group have friends have persisted over the years in the nasty and vicious rumour that totoros (clearly herbivores) eat cows. (And those Wedding Peach cosplayers the one year, but anyhow.) I just want to say... the cows are safe! The cows are FINE! The cows are in NO DANGER WHATSOEVER. So there. Thhbbbbt.
While the librarian I'm filling in for is NOT coming back from maternity leave, my contract only runs until the end of August. And they're lagging about in HR posting the position. This means that if it's not posted by Tues when my contract ends, I'm going to have to apply when they post it externally, since I won't be eligible for internal job postings any more. Arrrrgh. Hopefully, I'll only be without work for a few weeks, but still. Hmph.
