The lowest temperature last night was -36C/-33F. I'm very glad this cold snap is going to break before we drive to my folks' for Christmas. I WAS going to run errands this afternoon but didn't think to plug the car in, and unsurprisingly, it did not start. Guess we're doing that later in the week, then.
There was also a pot luck for the weaver's guild scheduled, and I had everything done for the exchange--it was pincushions this year, and I have two knitted hedgehog pincushions sitting right here waiting beside me. However, it was also cancelled due to extreme cold, and I was happy to not have to bundle up and leave the house. (I got an email! And then a text message! And then a phone call! From three different people! I admire their commitment to making sure everyone knew, but I did laugh by the third one.)
Tomorrow, I am back in the office for the next three days. There will definitely be excessive layering up for my walk into work. It's only half a block, and it literally takes longer to drive... if the car will even start.
Right now, I am layered and cozy on the couch... with two pairs of wool socks.
