GISH week induced fanfic

We are in the final stretches of GISH, the Greatest International Scavenger Hunt! The shopping list for errand-running this week included a pineapple, a second-hand denim jacket, a box of toothpicks, and a replacement stapler.

So far, I have got a picture of a published poet with their poetic license, made a treehouse for bugs, a dress entirely of pockets, a literal book jacket, a royal garden for monarch butterflies, and found an unconventional work-from-home location sitting on the broken toilet currently in our backyard.

(Side note, the main floor bathroom, it is functional again, as of last night!! Pics when it's all back together.)

And I just finished another item. The challenge: "Fanfic through the Ages": Write a special crossover fanfic of a character from a 1990s show, book, or video game and a character from a 2000s show, book, or game meeting in a different 2010s universe.

And now, I need to go finish stitching a replica of Hokusai's Under the Wave Off Kanagawa onto a denim jacket. Because GISH.

whenever I'm reminded of GISH, I applaud madly. and then I marvel at the challenges, and the terrific ways people complete them.

loved the story, and had fun identifying the characters as they appeared :)

Thanks! I'm glad our team isn't a competitive one, since I don't think I'd enjoy that sort of pressure. I'll get around to posting some pictures here soon, but you can see the jacket and a few other highlights here right now.
