Because I was feeling like I had not done what I meant to this weekend, I present...

Things I did this weekend

Spent Friday night binge-reading an 80K gender-swapped modern AU Untamed fic where they're both romance writers at the same conference who due to booking issues have to share a hotel room, and yes, THERE IS ONLY ONE BED.

Set up the new printer. It will print double-sided automatically, do colour, and print on cardstock. It prints without streaking and jamming! And now I can print more things to eventually bind. I did print three fic so far on the library copier at staff rates (the very reasonable five cents a page) but there are some things (*cough*thepornierfic*cough*) that I do not want to print at work,

Did most of our taxes. Sigh. Spent two and a half hours sorting out a billing issue with Barb's cell phone. SUPER frustrating, and she has cancelled her contract and is going to switch companies. I won't bore anyone with the details.

Finished another book (but only one) for Monday's award committee meeting. I had meant to burn through a bunch of the fantasy titles to compare them, but that will be a goal for next month now.

Had several conversations with the contractor about basement stairs and furnace ducts. I am so ready for this to be donnnnne.

Made progress on prep for a project with the weaver's guild, and things for bookbinding. I have decided to complicate the labour-intensive process of making a rag rug (So much cutting things up. So much.) by braiding the strips first, because I'm using a combination of t-shirts and socks, and it in theory will be more stable this way. We'll see how it works. I also finally got around to dissecting some library discards to see if I could scavenge the bookboard inside the covers for new projects, and was pleasantly surprised that it worked.

Watched a movie with Barb and a couple episodes of TV remotely with a friend. ([personal profile] bell, you were right about the goodness or lack thereof of The Living Dead movie, but it was still entertaining.) I'm watching The Untamed again over Teleparty with one of my oldest friends, and we're doing two episodes at a time most Saturdays. We're up to ep 12 out of 50, so this should keep us occupied for a bit. We left our heroes trapped in a cave with the Tortoise of Slaughter.

Spent a couple hours on Skype today hanging out and chatting with another friend. We have a standing Thursday night Skype date, but had to reschedule this week. She crocheted. I chopped up old socks and braided them together. Various family members floated in and out of the conversation. It was good.

Made cookies to take into work tomorrow because it's my last few days working from the branch before moving back downtown full-time. I did not want to make cookies, but I wanted to have cookies, so cookies were made. I did  a double batch, half for work and half for home, and narrowly avoided dumping an entire bowl of dough on the floor, and also forgetting the oatmeal, and one pan got a bit burnt, but disasters were averted, and Barb likes burnt cookies, so all is well.
Things I meant to do but did not:

Make soup for weekday lunches and to take over to a friend with COVID. I might still do this in the next couple days.

Finish putting the laundry away. Ehhh. It'll happen. Likewise, all the dishes, not all done but some of them are done. Whatever. Motivation has been in short supply in general lately.

Yoga. This may have been a mistake. My neck and hips are pretty stiff. Tomorrow for sure.
So yeah. Life continues around here.
