daemonlunaI just clicked out of a 160k Untamed fic halfway through when the combination of OOC and melodrama made me realize I was just skimming. I feel that's a mark of maturity? (I'm sorry, you can mayyyybe sell me on Wen Ning romantically in love with Wei Wuxian in a modern AU if you're really, really good, but it's for sure not something I'd seek out and I cannot buy he'd sabotage WWX's relationship with Lan Zhan.)
I have half a dozen fic formatted to bind, but it turns out that the new toner cartridge was not sufficient to solve my printer's woes, so new printer plans are contingent on a) me doing our income tax, and b) the one I want coming back into stock. But the concrete walls for the basement are supposed to be poured on Friday, and I'm optimistic that I'll have a basement with our washer and dryer back into it by weekend after next. Either that, or I go do another load of laundry at a friend's like I did weekend before last. (And for a brief and shining moment, I had so many choices for clean socks...) Turns out three weeks is about as long as we can go before things start to get dicey for essentials.
One of my fanfic-writing coworkers just finished watching White Collar, so I pointed her towards Copperbadge's Never Leave A Trace, However, I've realized that I've lost a whole swathe of fanfic links from around 2007-2009, when I started putting it all onto del.icio.us, which is sadly no more, and I never thought to back up more than a handful of things. That includes most of the White Collar, and all the American Idol slash I ad bookmarked from the Adam Lambert era. Pity, that.
This is an impressively ambitious sixfold fanfic-binding book project. This is the next project from the same fanbinder, a fourteen-fold book. They also did a giant all-in-one volume of the Chinese novel series Heaven's Official Blessing a few months back. I am not aiming for anything that ambitious, rest assured.
Here are some cool historical documents from the University of Victoria Transgender Archives Collection in BC. Newsletters, info pamphlets from the 60's and 70's, some personal letters.
