Oh, Vista.
Nov. 24th, 2008 11:12 pmSo. Last night, my computer updated with Vista Service Pack 1. This morning, it wouldn't reboot.
Attempted to restart. Attempted recovery discs. Recovery discs were created on another computer. Apparently, they are computer-specific.
Called Microsoft. The two customer service guys I first spoke to both had a drawl. And mumbled. The nice young East Indian man I spoke to after that was very polite and much easier to understand. However, he ultimately could not help me and sent me to talk to the manufacturer of my computer.
HP can restore it for me, but that will wipe the hard drive. *sigh* There's some music and photos I haven't backed up (of course) but since it's not a hardware problem, the ingenious
drakkenfyre suggested booting from a Linux disc.
Stupid Microsoft. This is why we have a back-up laptop.
