Randomness of the summer night variety
Jul. 8th, 2005 11:54 pmIt's started to cool down outside. Every once in a while I can catch the breath of a cool breeze. With the windows open, it should be lovely and cool tonight.
There's a cat sitting in the window, absorbed in smelling his outside. His stripey tail is twitshing. I bet he'd be annoyed if I grabbed the tip of it.
I can hear fireworks from the Stampede grounds. Grandstand show must be finishing up. Maybe this year we'll go out somewhere other than the top of the stairs above our balcony to see 'em (which is do-able, but only in a on-tiptoes, looking through the trees kind of way).
Because everyone has their windows open, we can hear our neighbours' phones when they ring. I just heard the unmistakable tones of someone using a dial-up modem. Ah, nostalgia...
Book review status: two (finally) done but for final edit and sentence-tightening, one roughed out, to be turned into complete sentences in the morning.
This is a spiffy-cool Harry Potter booklight. I want one!
