We've picked up a couple new TV shows lately. Heroes = for teh win! Also, the Dresden Files. I'm still not sure about it yet. It feels a bit... disjointed to me. I'm not sure if it just hasn't really hit its stride yet, or it has to do with the book-to-screen translation. Mind you, I haven't read the boooks yet. Some I'm curious to know what other people think of it.

Also, in the realm of teen vampire books, I am curious to hear if anyone has read Twilight by Stephenie Meyer, and if so, what they think. You can read and comment on my oh-so humble opinion here. (A lot of my book-and-library ramblings are now on [livejournal.com profile] elis_reads.)

I've read all of the Dresden books save the latest (which is still in hardcover); in short, I consider them fun.

I have not seen the series, but have discussed the quality with someone who has both seen it and read the books. Her opinion was similar to yours, that the print-to-screen conversion was a rocky one. Read into that what you will.

I have mad love for Heroes. Every episode has worked for me, and I really appreciate that the show provides some answers in addition to all the questions.

[livejournal.com profile] jcalanthe had some interesting things to say about the first couple episodes of The Dresden Files. I'm interested but not necessarily in for the long haul (however long it may actually be), and I don't recall even really knowing there were source books before the first episode aired.
