Nov. 30th, 2005 10:15 pmThis week's ep impressed me more than the season premiere--I think it's mostly because I can't stand Jack Angel thus far. (Of course, last week had a fantastic scene between James and Alice at the end.)
There was still a lot of Elliot, but he was practically subdued. And the exchange between him and his client on the playground swings at the end was oddly sweet. I can actually see a relationship working between the two of them, in a incredibly awkward and fumbling way.
I'd really like to see more of Alice, though. (And Nancy, but that was a given.) It still feels like The Elliot Show, and though I like Elliot, I want to see more of everyone else. (Except Jack.) I'm just afraid the show's going to move closer to comedy than to drama. Not that every episode needs heartbreaking tragedy, but we haven't really seen any truly serious cases in the first two.
Of course, I'm going to keep watching. The preacher giving away drugs is an interesting storyline, even though it felt a bit like the finale last season with Mr. Jackson. (I read somewhere that he'll be back this season--I hope so!)
I have yet to really pinpoint my vague dissatisfaction with the first two episodes. Hmm.
Once again, got a zillion open tabs, including a bunch of fic. I'm going to try to go through them and post tomorrow night. We shall see if I actually get around to it.

That would be nice. Seeing as the show is, ostensibly, supposed to focus on *Alice*'s adventures in Wonderland...
I find Jack much more tolerable when he's fully clothed and at least partially sober. Which is still not to say that I find him all that tolerable.
Judge Fraser's clowns...don't surprise me, strangely enough. *g*
