Spookycreepyeerie pumpkin day!
Oct. 31st, 2005 10:54 pmI love Halloween.
Alas, we are not officially allowed to celebrate it at my school. (And believe you me, that's a whole 'nother rant.) However, there were numerous pins, buttons, and the art teacher has the awesomest Halloween vest. She's worn it several times in the past few weeks. I've been booktalking at least one spooky book per class (at least for gr 3 and up) over the past week, and the kids have been looking themselves for ghost stories. I read The Wolves in the Walls by Neil Gaiman to the grade threes, and though they enjoyed it, it's long. Like, almot twenty minutes long. Which is a shame, because it's an awesome book. (You know what they say. Once the wolves come out of the walls, it's all over.)
troutkitty and
queenzulu are planning on starting NanoWriMo-ing at 12:01. We've been watching The Medium and X-Files. If you ate a piece of Halloween candy every time someone said "home" in a meaningful way in the episode "Home"... Well, we gave up halfway through.
I wanted to watch the Buffy ep "Fear Itself" but think I'll be crashing before then. ("Actual size!" Heee!)
