At this point, I don't care that your only GLBT panel was on GLBT horror. It looked like it might even be interesting. But really... um. Not to sound exclusionary or focussed on semantics, but. Both of the panelists were straight, and clueless. And not terribly interested in horror.

even at first glance I see a *huge* disconnect between the panel discription and the actual panelists. hard to believe they couldn't find at least *one* queer person with an interest in horror to participate.

And the one woman kept talking about how she'd written a story about a gay farmer... seriously, she just kept saying "gay farmer." I left. and then I laughed and laughed.

Yup. The programming was... strange. A Heinlein panel every hour of the day. A lot of science-oriented panels that I was told were hijacked a lot by people with strange fringe theories. And almost all the costuming panels were Furry-oriented.

There was a serious lack of reputable and coherent panelists all over. But they never got so far as to post a list of panels (let alone a schedule) on the webiste at ALL, so that may have seriously affected their pool of volunteers.

I think what happened is that both panelists were expecting to be the token straight person. It was a strange mix of topics and events. We talk tomorrowish?
