Things heard on the CBC
Jun. 13th, 2005 07:24 pmThis past weekend, Dairy Queen had a promotion running because of their moolattes. Bring in a real cow, and get a free moolatte every week for a year.
You'd think this would be a pretty safe proposition, actual-cow-to-publicity ratio.
However, they were interviewing the manager of the Brooks DQ. Brooks is a town in Southern Alberta right in the middle of cattle ranching country. They counted themselves fortunate that they only had thirty-eight people show up with cows, because the torrential downpours we've been getting for the past two weeks has turned a lot of pasture to swamp, making the collecting of the cow a bit tricky.
In other news, the rain has stopped for now, but we did get a downpour a little while ago--right after I'd moved all the plants into the sun. Grrr.
