An update of random occurences
May. 31st, 2005 12:52 pmWe had a busy, busy weekend. Birthday party for
troutkitty on Friday--we were planning on watching Angel eps, so there was a general "bring something pointy" theme, foodwise. Pretzels, pointy-cut veggies, triangular tortilla chips, fruit kebobs, sauages-onna-stick... our friends are good sports. *g* We only watched "Smile Time," but still. There was playing with action figures, because yes, we really are all still twelve. (I'd say five, but given what some of the action figures were doing...) Dru/X-Files alien OTP! Legolas/Will Turner action figure slash, because there's just not enough meta there already!
mockingspike set out to build a pyramid, with a level made entirely of Willows (I have three). Also, my Arctic Scully apparently has a theorizing hand, and a bitchslapping hand, as discovered by
queenzulu. And Angel's amputated arm (my Angel figure has a Krycek complex) is a great big slut, though it was theorized that Angel's arm/Will's spare head = OTP.
Saturday, we went to visit
naked_bandit and her boy, whose Christmas present I finally brought over. So if she's stuck watching A Charlie Brown Christmas over and over all summer, it's my fault. We were going to go to one of the movies showing at the Fairy Tales film festival with
queenzulu, but didn't make it since it was an early show. Instead, we meandered down to the video store, and came back with Wilby Wonderful and Latter Days (gay Mormon boys! We meant to see it last year and missed... are you sensing a theme here? Then it won't surprise anyone to hear that we didn't make it to the movie last night either).
And I had avacados in the fridge that had to be used up. So of course, that meant guacamole, which also meant chicken taco salad for supper, and the logical conclusion is, of course, margaritas. Empirical evidence has proven that the ones made with frozen limeade were better than those made with margarita mix. Of course, this might have something to do with the second batch not being blended enough, which isn't a big surprise, considering that it took
troutkitty two tries to get the blender working--it goes better if you plug it in. The end result of all of this is that we went on a mission to find
queenzulu a girl, a mission which came to an ignomious and anticlimatic finish. But seeing as how that's a long story, it'll have to wait.

make the sex more equalempathize with Lindsey? ;-)I've been itching to see Wilby Wonderful for *so long*. Gah. I saw Latter Days in the theater with

Date: 2005-06-06 07:05 pm (UTC)Wilby Wonderful a) is very, very Canadian, b) has the CUTEST SCENE EVER between Duck (CKR) and Dan, and c) is now out on DVD.
We finally watched Latter Days last night, and it was not nearly as angsty as I thought it would be. It kind of skipped over the whole "I'm Mormon! I can't be gay! Conflicted-conflicted-conflicted!" stuff I was expecting, which was a relief on one hand and a bit too easy on the other. Anyhow. Boys smooching! Aww!

::nodding:: I get that. I was glad for the positive reveal late in the movie, though -- glad that the negative action Aaron didn't stick and ultimately turn it into one of *those* gay movies.
