Compulsive packrat tendencies to the rescue

Had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon and evening with much socializing. Got together with friends, watched Moulin Rouge. troutkitty made souffles her bitch. She's wierd, and I love her.

However, this reminded me that I read a really good Moulin Rouge slash fic back when the movie first came out. And. Er. It was funny. And it was probably posted on allslash or rareslash. Doesn't give me a lot to go on, ne? I'm currently converting several hundred meg of old mail from Netscape Mail to Eudora.

Incidentally, after not finding it on CKOS or WWOMB, I googled and ended up at a fic whose summary was something about Christian and Satine's marriage, a year later. (Um, I hate to break it to you, but Satine is DEAD. And that's not a huge spoiler. That's something we find out in the first few minutes of the movie.)

I can just see it.

Christian: Satine, my love, I have something to confess to you. I... I... I think I'm a necrophiliac!

Satine's muldering corpse: [...]

Currently stricken by random bout of insomnia. Damn. It's been a while. Odd how a regular sleep schedule and perpetually getting almost but not quite enough sleep helps that. (I would recommend the former, but not the latter.) Maybe I'll go read for a bit or something. Yeah.

Really? I only remember coming across a couple mediocre Christian/Toulouse fantasy-type fics. Let me know if you ever locate the good one again.

It amused me that I just happened to have recommended the story to someone else the day before I made my previous comment on your post. And later in the evening after making that comment, I was at a Champions on Ice figure skating show where a pair skated to "Come What May" and reminded me of the post/comment again. *g*
