I was going to post about our blizzard-induced power outage, but then
dine went and posted a kids' lit meme, and I couldn't resist! Kids' lit geekitude FTW.
On the kids' lit blogs, Fuse #8, there was a follow-up to last year's Top 100 Picture Book Poll, the Top 100 Children's Fictional Chapter Books Poll! The posts about the books are full of of fascinating tidbits of trivia, different covers, trailers for movie adaptations and other awesomeness.

A lot but not all of my favourites are on here. I haven't read them all, but I do know them all--professional hazard! *g* Based on the results and I suspect it's a predominately (although not exclusively) American, teachers-and-librarians audience voting, so it's the favourites of a rather specific cross-section of the population, and one with a fairly heavy investment and involvement with the subject matter! Lots of old favourites and a few new ones--now I want to reread many, many things...
