Oh, Friday, you betray me!

Over the summer, I have Fridays off. (But I work every other weekend, so it still means alternating one day and three day weekends.) Right now, I'm kind of glad of that fact.

Two weeks ago on Friday, we had a server crash at work. By Saturday morning, we had internet, email, and our library system up and running, but no access to the network drives. Come Monday, tech services discovered that one of the drives was fried, and the most recent usable backup was a month old. Yeah. Ungood, and wreaked havoc with many things including doing the timesheets to make sure we all have, oh, I dunno, our paycheques?

This afternoon, I get a call from work. The library is closed tomorrow. Why? We have no electricity and won't until late Saturday afternoon. Um. Okay then. I am not complaining too hard, because really, day off with pay! (However, I did actually have stuff to get done.) I'm curious about what exactly happened, though...

And I'm kind of worried about two Fridays from now. Fire? Flood? Famine? Plague of locusts?
