I will be the first to admit that I'm a sucker for a good ghost story. I love shows like Creepy Canada (incredibly earnest and melodramatic re-enactments and all) and Most Haunted (with its mix of probably explicable events and documented fakery), and yes, MTV's Fear (mass hysteria for teh win!), and I have a whole shelf of books like Ghosts Stories of Alberta and Haunted Canada.

(This holds true for fictional ghosts and creepy things as well, like X-Files, Buffy, Medium, Supernatural, Are You Afraid of the Dark?)

We watched the pilot episode of the Dresden Files tonight, and the bit about the skinwalker prompted [livejournal.com profile] troutkitty to post about creepy goings-on she's encountered or heard of at various times. And that reminded me of the recordings here of writer Dave Carpenter, talking about things that happened at Fort San in Saskatchewan. (Link courtesy of my mom, who heard him tell all of this at a writer's retreat a few summers ago.)

Found while looking for something else entirely: Calgary Association of Paranomal Investigators. Huh.
