Tired now.

I've been exhausted all week. Part of it is that spring break is in sight, and everyone, kids and teachers alike, all know it. (It has not been a calm and peaceful week in the story corner, oh no it has not.)

But also. My grandmother died last Thursday.

This wasn't a huge shock to anyone. She was eighty-nine, and had been failing for a while. But it's strange how it hits you. I was perfectly calm and collected until I told my principal that I needed a day off, and saying it out loud just... made it real.

The funeral was in Edmonton last week (and at some later point, I'll have to recount the fun and exciting hijinx of the funeral bus and the doubtful grave) and was all very nice and everyone agreed that Grandma would have liked it very much.

Now, I'm just tired.

Tomorrow, I am going to meet my girl at the gym when I get off work, and go for sushi, just like a real date. The weekend will likely be spent moving further back towards normal. Laundry, and catching up on lj in flannel pjs with a fresh cup of coffee, and making a dent in my ever-growing to-read pile of books. That's my plan.

But for now, I'm going to bed.
