My friends are insane

...but in a really cool WTF your-brain-amazes-me kind of way.

Example: my birthday present from mockingspike (which I meant to post about three weeks ago, but anyways.)

The top of the box:

"For an out-of-this-world woman on her birthday, an alternate reality designed to be the playground of [my actual name] and some of her more demonic and/or monomaniacal action figures..."

Inside the box:

"A world..."

[inflatable globe]

"with nothing..."

[frozen shrimp]

"but you-know-what..."

[more frozen shrimp]

"In which all others of your choosing are mere prawns. Happy birthday!"

Isn't that incredibly amazing??

Of course, this will confuse you horribly without the Buffy context.

So we made shrimp dumplings. mockingspike and queezulu helped, because the best way to do it is to have a dumpling-making party, so that all the folding and stuffing doesn't drive you insane. And queenzulu spun an elaborate story about being a poor, Korean dumpling-maker girl getting paid ten cents a day, and in the end, there was throwing off of evil overlords, and much rejoicing. And of course, shrimp dumplings.

Three weeks later, the combination of ingenuity and genius ludicrousness still makes me grin. My friends are insane. In the best possible way.
