And the RL babble component of today

As of 4:45 yesterday, I now have seventeen days off. Yay for schools and Christmas vacation! Of course, I have a million errands to run today.
Got Christmas cards this week from
mimisgrotto and
guyindkny and
tekenduis and
placidia! (All on the same day. Which was also the day I got about three more cards from other people.) Thanks, guys! And, um, I still have to finish my Christmas cards. (In the mail before Christmas at very least! Really! I promise!)
I have read the Polar Express and How the Grinch Stole Christmas at least seventeen times each in the past two weeks. And The Christmas Tapestry by Patricia Polacco about half a dozen times, to the older kids. Hmm, maybe I should post some Christmas book recs. Yesterday, I got several presents from kids, including a penguin pin! (Penguins, yay! I've got it on my winter coat.) And candy canes and chocolate. And the one grade threee class was taking sugar cookies around to all the teachers and staff. (When I picked it up, a whole spoonful of sprinkles slid off.)
We've been watching Grey's Anatomy. I'm not usually big on medical dramas (I watch House for the snark), but am enjoying it thoroughly. Tone-wise, it falls in between Dead Like Me and Six Feet Under. I think I need to go hunting for some fic recs.
And I need an appropriately seasonal icon.
But! Not now, for I need to get up and moving and go shopping for stocking stuffers and new tires and pick up my holds at the library. Onward!
