Unabashed geekiness

Link gakked from [livejournal.com profile] perian, though Godiva's has been cancelled before I got a chance to really watch it, there's going to be a new series based on Tanya Huff's Vicki Nelson books!

Woo-hoo! Cranky half-blind former-cop (female) private investigator and historical romance-writing hundred-year-old (male) vampire--together, they fight crime! Now to just hope that the adaptation is, um. Good.

What's CHUM?

Wow, Vicki Nelson got a series. That'll be interesting. I wonder if it'll be set before or after the end of the 4th book *spoilerdodge*

Ironically, while the series is set in Toronto, the spinoff "Smoke" series is set in Vancouver on a show that is pretty clearly a mimic of Forever Knight. ;)

CHUM=Canadian mega-broadcaster. Not only do they own the local affiliates for several major urban centres (CityTV, A Channel), but they also own MuchMusic, Space, Bravo!, Fashion Television, SexTV, Book Television, et al. The Tanya Huff series is being developed for Space, but will likely also see play on CityTV and A Channel stations.

Y'know, I spent a full minute staring at your comment until I realized you meant the Smoke series BOOKS, about Tony, and not another TV series or something. My brain is not connecting as it should lately. Gah.

Me, too! Now I want to reread the series... seeing as I've finally reclaimed the last few shelves of books from my parents' basement, this should be doable. (Though now I need another bookcase or two. But that's perpetual.) I really hope they stick fairly close to the books.
