Obscure fannish love

[livejournal.com profile] carlanime has started [livejournal.com profile] wonderland_fic, for fic and discussion about the Canadian TV show This is Wonderland. Feel free to pass this info on to anybody you think might be interested, including any lj communities, etc.

(Minor aside: Squeeee! TiW! [livejournal.com profile] queenzulu, go join!)

The tagline when it started was "Law and Order. Without the Order." It's sharp, funny, intelligent, and moving. It's also an exercise in spot-the-Canadian-actor guest spot. *g* (Ramona Milano! Brent Carver! Patrick McKenna! Peter Outerbridge! Also, Alice/Nancy=OTP.

The first season is coming out on DVD at the beginning of May, but if I can get my hands on a second VCR that actually works, will pimp out copies to anyone who's willing.

You're so damned enthusiastic, I feel I must be part of it also. So I'll be pimped.

Mwaha. Now to just obtain another VCR... Love the icon, hon.

Well don't kill yourself. If it's DVD-bound, I can queue it on Netflix. Gotta support the not dead gay shows, eh? ;)

[identity profile] daemonluna.livejournal.com 2005-03-17 11:21 pm (UTC)(link)
Definitely! *g* Do they carry TV series, too? (Even if they do, they might not get it on account of it being obscure and Canadian.)

Netflix does indeed carry TV shows. I'm not sure if they'd carry this, but if they can carry foreign flicks, then there's a good chance. And if not, well ... I guess get thee to that second VCR. :P

OMG I love my alive gay show!

*plans spring DVD purchases*

I want to pimp this show to my mom. She's a real fan of Law and Order, and of good writing in general--as we all know--and I think this'd be right up her alley. What she said was, "But it's the sort of thing where, if I watch one, I have to watch them all, right?" and I said, "Yep, it's just that good," and she said, "I don't have time for that. You're making me sad." And I said, "I will pimp it to you while you're folding laundry. Because I am just. That. Efficient."

[identity profile] daemonluna.livejournal.com 2005-03-17 11:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, but you don't need to watch them all sequentially--they're mostly stand-alone. So she should be able to watch it!

Which end of the city are you in tonight? Because it's entirely likely that [livejournal.com profile] mockingspike is going to call and want to know if we want to go writing, and we will end up probably at Steeps.

[identity profile] zulu.livejournal.com 2005-03-17 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm north--at the University, actually. What time do you plan to end up there? Because I have no work tomorrow! Whee!

[identity profile] daemonluna.livejournal.com 2005-03-17 11:34 pm (UTC)(link)
Luckyyy! Mmmm... probably around sevenish? And if it's too crazy on 17th, we can head back to our place.

For some reason, it only just now occurred to me that I ought to point out that you might enjoy [livejournal.com profile] serrico's journal.

Cool, thanks! I fall in love with the most obscure fandoms... ^_^;
