daemonluna: default icon, me with totoros (halloween)

Happy belated Halloween!

Just had to post to try out the new icon. Hee. We had friends over and mocked a ghost movie-documentary thing we'd taped, A Haunting in Connecticut. It was kinda freaky without the mocking. Heh. All demonic entity guy and blood and shadows. And stock footage. Much stock footage. (Aaaaah, it's the stock footage monster!) Then, amidst all the mini-chocolate bars and punch, we just had to watch a Halloween Buffy episode. So I pulled out Buffy season four, and played "Fear, Itself." Giles in a sombrero. Chainsaw! Hee. Bunny!Anya. Actual size! Bwaha! We need to watch our season four DVDs. I miss Buffy. I especially miss Buffy when it didn't suck like season seven.

And [livejournal.com profile] alessar telecommuted to the party. Despite the, oh, two time zones in between, I'd told him he was invited, so he called to say hi. *g* And he passed the phone over to another long-time 'net friend who I hadn't had the chance to talk to in person, and I spent the next several minutes trying to figure out if he'd actually handed the phone over or not. ^_^;

I didn't dress up this year, and Barb briefly had dead-person makeup on before it got too itchy and she had to wash it off. But the giant totoro dressed up, and so did Brutus and Horatio, Barb's giant stuffed cows. The totoro was a witch, Brutus was a pirate, and Horatio was a tacky tourist. Pictures to follow tomorrow. Hopefully.

All this does not change the fact that I locked the keys in the car today. Stopped to run some errands, I decided to wait in the car while Barb went to grab what she needed, and when I got out to feed the meter, I automatically locked the door. And locked in my keys, engine running and all. I could have hiked home to get Barb's keys, but oh no, wait, the keys that would get me into the building? In the car. Eventually, the AMA guy came, and all was sorted out. But as I was standing there tugging on the door, what ran through my head was dammit, why don't I have amazing telekinetic powers? It's just one little button, really...

But hey, I have two job interviews next week. One looks good in theory, but we'll see about in practice and how well it pays, the other is what I want to be doing once I get five or ten more years experience, and in Edmonton. I'm absolutely thrilled that I even GOT the interview for the second one, but I really-really-really don't want to pick up and move again. Especially since Barb's got a shot at a job at the U of C. We'll see what happens.

It's now officially November and has been for several hours. Barb is typing away furiously, since she's decided to do the NaNoWriMo thing. All the sugar I've consumed is wearing off, so I think I need to drag both of us off to sleep.
