Slow, slow, slow, slow, slowwww day

I am supposed to be on the reference desk this afternoon. (looks over at ref desk a dozen feet away) I am back at my desk because there is nothing to do there. No phone calls, no email, no walk-ins, no outstanding requests. It's been dead for the past two and a half hours.

Damn. I need something to distract me from compulsively calling home and chcking the messages. Of course, I'm even less focused than usual today due to a certain cat who start to howl at quarter to six, and did not stop. Well, he did. For five minutes or so at a time. Then he'd start again. I don't know where he got this idea that I will get up just to let him outside. Because it never, ever happens. EVER.

I'm half-way though the latest Tamora Pierce, Trickster's Queen (well, probably not the latest any more, but I just got it on hold), and enjoying it throroughly. (Hey queenzulu, have you read anything by Tamora Pierce?)

Need to update course handouts tonight. Also, need to do laundry today or tomorrow.

Right now, need caffiene...
